We're Getting Married
Aanya &
Pierre-Arnaud
On a warm, breezy evening, beneath a sky sprinkled with stars, the streets of Hauz Khas Village in Delhi buzzed with life. Amidst the hum of conversations, the clinking of glasses, and the soft strum of a distant guitar, two strangers unknowingly crossed paths.
He was just another visitor, soaking in the vibrant nightlife, while she was a regular, weaving through the crowd with a sense of familiarity. For a moment, their eyes met - a brief but unforgettable spark that neither could quite explain.
They both moved on, each thinking about the encounter but not expecting anything more.
A year later, life circled back in a way they never anticipated. It was another evening, another night out, and there they were again, standing in the same street, looking at each other like they had just seen a ghost. This time, they didn’t let the moment slip away. They exchanged smiles, then words, then stories.
What began as a random chat turned into a deep conversation that lasted well into the night. By the time they parted, something had changed.
The first date happened not long after. He invited her to the movies, and she said yes without hesitation. As the lights dimmed in the theater and the screen came to life, they both stole glances at each other, catching those shy, glimmering looks that said more than words ever could. It wasn’t about the movie; it was about those quiet moments when their hands brushed, and they both knew this was the beginning of something special.
They came from different worlds - different families, cultures, even different nationalities.
He was from a city in France, while she was from India. Their upbringing couldn’t have been more different. Yet, when they were together, none of that seemed to matter. They discovered a common ground, not just in their love for coffee, exploration, and late-night walks, but in their shared dreams, hopes, and fears.
Years passed, and their love story grew, nurtured by the moments they spent together, from impromptu weekend trips to quiet evenings at home. They learned to navigate their differences, turning them into strengths. They celebrated festivals from each other’s cultures, learning, understanding, and most importantly, loving without reservation.
One day, as they were walking through the same street in Hauz Khas where it all began, he stopped, took her hand, and got down on one knee. With a smile that spoke of a thousand memories, he asked her to be his forever. And under the starry lights that once brought them together, she said yes.
Their story wasn’t about grand gestures or dramatic turns; it was about two people who found each other when they weren’t looking. It was about love that quietly, beautifully grew over time, bridging gaps, overcoming barriers, and creating a lifetime of memories. It was a story of chance, of fate, and most importantly, of choice - the choice to stay, to grow, and to love, despite all odds.
And so, from that night in Hauz Khas to a lifetime together, they walked hand in hand, writing a story that was uniquely theirs.
A story of two hearts that found a home in each other, under a sky full of stars.
